This video shows the importance of spray pattern formation. Fuel injectors are designed to produce a certain droplet size. This atomization of fuel provides support for power, economy and helps prevent carbon deposits and cylinder washing. When your injectors get dirty they can't produce these good droplets.

This second video talks about the ASNU flow bench, its manufacture and benefits in part one. In part two it shows injector testing with the ASNU flow bench. Part four deals with the different types of injectors and their performance differences as well as the importance of a good clean and balanced set of injectors.

Here is a set of BMW injectors that had sat in a salvage engine. This illustrates a couple of things. One is that fuel isn't very stable and can gum things up in cars that are not used much and second is how effective ultrasonic cleaning is. |
Yamaha and Mercury outboards are using a type 3 injector. They tend to plug up causing low power and rpm's. They clean up well so the service will restore the performance to the engine. |
Leak down testing is an important step when servicing port fuel injectors. An injector that leaks down will cause hard semi warm restarts, wastes fuel and cause high hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions. |
GM Rochester Multecs have a patten problem with the electrical windings in their injectors. This video illustrates the importance of resistance and electrical load testing gasoline fuel injectors. |
