Frequently asked questions about injector service
Why should I have my injectors Serviced?
If you have your injectors out for any reason you should have them professionally serviced. The tips clog from solid deposits in the fuel and the filters become restrictive. On car cleaning won't unclog a stuffy filter. When your injector is performing like new it improves tail pipe emissions, fuel economy, power and cold start dependability.
I'm replacing or rebuilding my engine, should I buy new injectors?
You should only buy new injectors if your old ones have case leaks or electrical problems. You should have your injectors serviced to make sure you don't lean out a cylinder on your new engine and ruin it. Most warranty's won't cover a engine failure caused by a lean condition. We provide you with a computer report to prove to your engine company your injectors performance.
How much will it cost?
Our injector service is $16.00 per injector and covers all injectors including TBI, top feed port, side feed port and hose feed. We go the extra mile on hose feeds and re-hose them for you with up to 2 inches of hose each. On GM TBI we provide the upper fuel meter body gaskets so you can reinstall them into the unit. We don't charge for injectors we can't service.
Why should I use Mr.Injector?
There are several good company's out there that I would trust with my own injectors so you have some good choices. But why not use Mr.Injector. We provide good service at a fair price with quick turn around. Bill Johnson services all the injectors using his 38 years experience in the Auto and Motorcycle repair industry, and his 15 years experience in injector service to serve you.
Do you service diesel injectors? The most asked question.
Nope! Diesel injectors take special equipment and training and we prefer to be good with gas injectors.
What injectors do you service?
The list is getting longer all the time now that most everything that burns gas is using an injector. We service car and truck injectors, ATV and snowmobile, Marine inboard and outboard injectors, motorcycle and scooter injectors and personal watercraft injectors. We don't service CIS mechanical gas injectors or GDI direct injectors.
Do you flow match injectors?
There is no way to adjust an injectors flow. If your injectors are clean they will be well balanced. There are a few exceptions to this but most passenger car and truck injectors are well balanced when clean. Some Rochester injectors and some high flow injectors are not well balanced and this is a manufacturing issue. In those cases if you have several sets we can sort those out by flow for the best flow match.
My injectors are stuck. Can you fix them?
Gas just doesn't have much in it for stabilizer these days and a car that sits for a while can stick the injectors. We have had great success at freeing up and cleaning these gummy units. If you have a collector or summer car be sure to use gas stabilizer when storing the car.
Do have an exchange program?
We prefer to service your injectors. Your injectors are the exact match for your engine and vehicles build date.
How long will it take?
We provide a quick turn around, normally one working day. You can request express return shipping if time is an issue.
Are there injectors you can't fix?
Yep! If they have rusted inside, if the cases leak fuel or if they fail an electrical test the injectors won't benefit from service.
